Over 900 Victorian cosmetic surgery patients missing on official waiting lists
11 Victorian hospitals are caught up in what the government is calling an administrative bungle.
More than 900 cosmetic surgery patients failed to appear on official waiting lists.
There are concerns hospitals are deliberately trying to boost performance figures by leaving some patients off the official lists.
Shadow Health Minister Mary Wooldridge says it’s clear there has been a cover up.
‘It’s quite curious that we’re finding out about this on the last day before Christmas.’
‘Jill Hennesey needs to say how long she has known about it and how long it took her to take action, to make sure people who have been waiting for their surgery are actually going to get it appropriately,’ Minister Wooldridge tells 3AW News.
The State Government has ordered an independent audit of all Victorian health services.
