‘Over the moon’: Winner of Melbourne Marathon celebrates first ever marathon win

The men’s winner of the Nike Melbourne Marathon is back at work as a physiotherapist today after yesterday’s win, where he took out the $20,000 prize.

Winner Reece Edwards, who works as a physio at Epworth HealthCare, says he trained for eight weeks in preparation for his first ever marathon win and was happy to “finally” enjoy a beer with friends while celebrating last night.

“I was over the moon, especially because it’s a bit windy down Beach Road, but you know, I had a couple of Olympians there pushing me along,” he told Neil Mitchell.
