Pakenham pub fire raises police suspicion

Police are investigating a fire at a Pakenham pub.

Emergency services were called to the Main Street premises after a man, delivering goods to a near-by café, saw smoke billowing from the roof of the hotel around 1.40am.

No injuries were reported.

The exact cause of the blaze is yet to be determined and police are treating it as suspicious at this stage.

The investigation is ongoing.
