Parents are being warned to exercise caution when posting photos of their children online.

Dr. Justin Coulson from Happy Families told Mark Hawthorne parents need to consider what information they’re spreading.

‘Posting images that have the children’s school uniform, or the front of our house, is the sort of stuff that someone might pick up on,’ Dr Coulson said.

In particular, online social networks are domains to be wary of.

‘The people who are most likely to hurt or abuse our children are usually known to us and our children,’ Dr Coulson said.
