Parkville tree cut down after protesters removed by police
Police have removed four protesters trying to protect a more than 100-year old tree from being cut down at Parkville.
Officers moved in shortly after midday after three weeks of round-the-clock protests.
One was carried away, while the three remaining protesters were escorted away.
The tree has since been cut down.
The tree, which is more than 100 years old, has been removed to allow for a new intersection at Church Street and Flemington Road.
