Pascoe Vale fire: Family homeless for Christmas
A family of five has been left homeless three days before Christmas after fire destroyed their Pascoe Vale South home.
Flames were licking through the roof when firefighters arrived at the Eastgate Street home about 5am.
The family of five were woken by a neighbour.
They escaped the home just minutes before their roof collapsed.
Twenty firefighters battled for more than 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
But the unit has been destroyed, leaving the family looking for accommodation for the festive season Christmas.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
No one was injured.
It’s been reported the house was not insured.
