Passport delays still causing travel chaos for Victorians

Passport delays are still creating havoc, with Neil Mitchell alerted to another two cases on Wednesday that could cost two families thousands of dollars.

Kristy told Neil she was due to fly overseas with her two sons today, but had to reschedule because passports hadn’t arrived.

She said she rang three weeks ago asking for an update and was told her application had been escalated and the passport should arrive in time.

She rang again on Monday, asking whether she should move her flight.

“It is just a nightmare,” Kristy said.

Anthony said he was in the same boat.

He first made a passport application on May 4, seeking an update on how his application was going six weeks ago.

He is due to fly on Sunday and said he may lose $15,000 on flights and accommodation if his application isn’t resolved.
