Pedestrian killed in crash in Melbourne’s west

A pedestrian has been killed in a crash in Melbourne’s west.

Investigators have been told the man was hit by an SUV near the intersection of Heaths and Derrimut roads Hoppers Crossing at about 10.30pm on Thursday.

The driver stopped to render assistance but the male pedestrian died at the scene.

Witnesses, particularly anyone with dashcam footage, are urged to come forward.

There have been 145 lives lost on Victoria’s roads so far this year, up from 106 lives at the same time last year.
