Pedestrian killed on Racecourse Road after ambulance and car collide

A man is dead after being struck following a smash between an ambulance and car on Racecourse Road.

The incident happened in Flemington around 3.30 on Wednesday afternoon.

Witnesses have reported seeing the ambulance with its lights and sirens on t-boning the car, pinning a nearby pedestrian.

That man was taken to hospital in a critical condition, dying a short time later.

Two others have been injured.
