Pedestrian struck and killed in Oakleigh

A woman has died after being hit by a car in Oakleigh this morning.

The crash happened near the corner of Drummond Street and Dandenong Road at about 4.15am.

The pedestrian, a 62-year-old Oakleigh woman, died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 49-year-old man, stopped at the scene and is assisting police

In-bound lanes on Dandenong Road are closed at Atkinson Street. Motorists advised to detour via Huntingdale Road.
