Boy airlifted to hospital, one of three incidents at Venus Bay

A primary school aged boy has been airlifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a serious condition after being caught in the water at Venus Bay on Friday afternoon.

It’s one of three incidents at the beach.

A man in his 40s was also taken to Wonthaggi hospital.

A man in his 20s is also being assessed by paramedics after being pulled from the water.

It’s believed he had been swept out 1 kilometre from shore before being brought back by swimmers on boogie boards.
