Peter Dutton outlines opposition’s plan on immigration

Opposition leader Peter Dutton has outlined his migration strategy, which would see numbers capped at 160,000 if the Liberal party gains power.

Speaking after his budget reply speech, Mr Dutton told Tom Elliott on 3AW Mornings migration should be altered moving forward.

“We would cut back the permanent migration program, the refugee humanitarian program and we’d bring back international student numbers as well,

“Migration is a great thing for our country and we’re blessed by it, but we need to have migration undertaken in a managed way.”
