Peter Ford debunks the ‘urban myth’ surrounding the death of ‘Mama’ Cass Elliot

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford has spoken on the death of American singer “Mama” Cass Elliot, after it was revealed by her daughter Owen that she didn’t die from choking on a ham sandwich.

Ford said the cause of her death has almost become like a “punchline” for comedians for almost 50 years, and told Ross and Russ “something we’ve accepted as fact for decades, now turns out to not be true”.

“Excellent yarn Pete,” Ross Stevenson said.
