Shane Warne deserves a chance to clear the air following a scandal surrounding his foundation, says entertainment reporter Peter Ford.

Ford revealed on 3AW Breakfast he had spoken with Warne after reports surfaced the Shane Warne Foundation had raised $1.8 million in three years but just an average of 16 cents per dollar raised had actually gone to sick and underprivileged children.

Ford said the Australian cricket great was ‘disappointed’ with some of the coverage.

‘He said to me pretty openly that he’s messed up a lot of things in his life, but this is the one thing that he takes absolutely seriously and is ridgy-didge,’ Ford told Ross and John.
