Peter Ford says rumour Sam Newman is unhappy on The Footy Show is ‘100 per cent correct’

Rumours that Sam Newman may walk away from The Footy Show are gaining traction.

A 3AW caller told Tom Elliott last Thursday that Newman was set to quit the show in the coming weeks. 

Now, entertainment reporter Pete Ford has told Ross and John the tip-off was ‘absolutely 100 per cent correct’.

‘My information is that Sam Newman’s relationship with both the management at Channel 9 and also with the senior production staff has now become toxic,’ he said.

Pete said Newman was not ill when he missed a show a few weeks ago, rather he had refused to go on air.
