Entertainment reporter Peter Ford says Ten’s decision to give Sarah Harris a hosting role on The Project was a stroke of genius, but the pressure will be on for the presenter.

There’s been a mass exodus, with Lisa Wilkinson, Carrie Bickmore and Peter Helliar all quitting The Project in recent weeks.

Mr Ford says Sarah Harris is “now kind of expected to be the person to save the show”.

“She kind of slightly leans to the right in my opinion in her politics, so that’s good because it kind of shakes off that perception that The Project is just a bunch of lefties all on a soap box pushing their own barrows.

“It’s a good get for them.”

Russel Howcroft agrees.

“Sarah Harris a sensational move, absolutely sensational,” the 3AW Breakfast co-host said.
