Alec Baldwin has reached a settlement with the family of slain Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Under the deal, the family’s civil lawsuit will be dropped and filming of the movie will resume in January.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford says the settlement is a real “Hollywood plot twist”.

Ms Hutchins died after being shot by a prop gun Alec Baldwin was shooting on the film set.

Mr Baldwin has said he was told the gun was “cold” — meaning it was safe to use — and he did not pull the trigger.
