Peter Handscomb admits he’ll be nervous walking out to the middle of the MCG

Peter Handscomb admits he will be feeling nervous walking out to the middle of the MCG.

Australia’s in-form number five will play in front of upwards of 60,000 people on Boxing Day in just his third test.

Handscomb has made a blistering start to his test career, averaging 97.5 after four innings, including a memorable 105 at the Gabba against Pakistan.

But however well he’s travelling, and whoever the opposition, Handscomb admits he’s always nervous when walking out to the middle.

The Victorian told Tony Jones playing on the MCG will be a dream come true.

‘Growing up in the backyard, you always joke that you’re playing for Australia on the MCG,’ he said.

‘To actually live that childhood moment is going to be pretty cool.’
