Petition targets doctor over her same-sex marriage stance

The man behind a petition to have Dr Pansy Lai’s medical licence reviewed due to her stance on same-sex marriage has defended the move on 3AW.

Neil Mitchell thinks it’s counterproductive.

Dr Pansy Lai appears in the now infamous advertisement advocating a no vote in the postal vote.

Lev Lafayatte says she’s in violation of the oath.

“We think that she’s in breach of the oath which refers to a non-discrimination clause,” he said.

The online petition had gained thousands of signatures, however, it has since been disabled due to “inappropriate content.”
