Petrol discount tickets may not save you as much as you think
Those discounted petrol dockets might not be saving you as much as you think.
Many drivers redeem 4c discount vouchers as part of deals from supermarket chains, but the petrol stations that accept them are often far more expensive.
Mark McKenzie, CEO of the Australasian Convenience & Petroleum Marketers’ Association, told Tony Jones some petrol stations can be up to 43c per litre cheaper than others.
He said ‘the key message is people need to shop around’ as prices across Melbourne range from $1.06 per litre up to $1.49.
