Crash, bang: Truck into City Rd bridge, car ploughs into hairdressers

A car has slammed into the front of a hairdressing salon in Sale.

The female driver, believed to be aged in her 60s, suffered only minor injuries.

Witness Steve from the nearby newsagency told Neil Mitchell no-one was in the shop at the time of the crash, about 8:30am.

“All I heard was a loud crash of glass,” he said. “When I walked out I saw the car tail sticking out.”

Meanwhile, South Melbourne traffic was disrupted after a truck smashed into a City Road bridge (photo above).
