A security guard who helped break up a violent Anzac Day brawl at the MCG says it only involved Collingwood supporters who had turned on each other.

Robbie* was one of the first staff members to respond to the Ponsford Stand incident, which came to light via video posted to social media.

He told Neil Mitchell “it was something you see in a movie”.

“This is by far the most savage attack I have seen in my life,” he said.

“People being kicked in the head on the ground, children crying.”

Robbie said about 20 Collingwood supporters were involved in the brawl, which broke out about five minutes after the final siren.

“The only (Essendon supporter) was a female trying to break it up.”

Police say no charges have been laid as a result of the brawl.
