Planning expert takes issue with the Allan government’s high-rise plans around the Suburban Rail Loop
An area 24 times the size of Docklands will be seized by the Allan Government, paving the way for high-rise development, as part of the first stage of the Suburban Rail Loop between Cheltenham and Box Hill.
RMIT Environment and Planning professor, Michael Buxton, claims the plan is “not very well thought about” and is a “back of an envelope idea from Daniel Andrews”.
“This fundamentally changes the way a city looks and functions,” professor Buxton told 3AW Breakfast.
