Australia’s seaweed opportunity
A blueprint is being developed for the emerging seaweed industry, designed to unite existing research and aquaculture efforts into an action plan to accelerate development.
The current global market for seaweed products such as food, cosmetics, animal feed and fertiliser is estimated at over 17-billion Australian dollars.
Rural reporter Sophie Clarke caught up with Agrifutures Australia’s Tom McCue to find out if Australia has the appropriate conditions to grow the product:
