Bacteria hoped to fight the “cancer” of grape vines

A strain of bacteria has been found to reduce the rate of infection of grapevine trunk diseases by up to 80 percent.

Researchers at the National Wine and Grape Industry Centre have been examining the fungal infections causing diseases.

Rural reporter Eddie Summerfield caught up with Research Fellow Dr Regina Baaijens to discuss the significant break through.
