Be ‘That’ Business Show: Getting ready for the Christmas rush online

In the lead-up to Christmas, small business retailers are no doubt getting ready for the festive rush.

In this week’s episode of Be ‘That’ Business podcast, Steve Price and Telstra’s General Manager of Business Applications and Systems Marc Tan discussed how businesses can get ready for Christmas and ensure they are properly set up.

“Customers start their retail search journey through their phone or on the internet,” Mr Tan said.

“If you’re not online they can’t find you.

“You need to be there to craft your message and your story.”

But a significant number of small businesses still don’t have a social media account or a webpage to direct customers to.

“At Telstra, we offer a service called online essentials, where we can build a website for you in a matter of days,” he said.

“One thing we see from a lot of our small business customers, something like 50% of Australian small business still don’t have a website.”
