Be ‘That’ Business: The merits of cloud-based accounting software

Mark Levy

Businesses across Australia are increasingly making use of cloud-based accounting software.

In this week’s episode of Be ‘That’ Business, Mark Levy was joined by Telstra’s cloud services specialist Paul Fritsch to talk cloud-based accounting software and how far it has come in the last two years.

Mr Fritsch said one of the benefits was the fact the software was mobile and accessible anywhere, as well as being user-friendly.

He said the technology is being increasingly taken up.

“In a nutshell it really just means externally hosted ICT services – it really falls into two buckets – hardware and software,” he said.

“Whereas a business would traditionally buy a hardware server for tens of thousands of dollars to put in, they can actually access one in the cloud which is a hosted data centre somewhere on demand,” he said.
