Bee bug reaches blueberry fields

Rural News

Blueberry and avocado growers in northern New South Wales are concerned about the arrival of Varroa mite in the region, and are urging everyone to help keep the outbreak under control.

The bee disease has been detected in hives near Coffs Harbour and is being linked to cases in Newcastle.

Rural editor Sophie Clarke caught up with local avocado grower Paul Shoker to hear what the detection means for farmers approaching pollination time.
