Biosecurity efforts front and centre following White Spot detection.

Prawn farmers are ramping up biosecurity efforts after a highly contagious disease was detected in northern New South Wales for the first time.

White Spot has been found in an enclosed hatchery near Yamba during routine testing.

Authorities are confident they’ve contained the spread.

Rural editor Sophie Clarke caught up with Australian Prawn Farmers Association Executive Officer Kim Hooper to hear more about what it could mean for the industry.
