Bombers great Kevin Sheedy has pitched another plan to AFL bosses, proposing the entire opening round of the season be played overseas.

He’s told 3AW’s Justin Smith and John Burns it will help broaden the reach of the game and get foreign players interested.

“The future of our footy is not just about Melbourne,” he said.

“I think we just keep going back to the same trough and keep asking for money from the same people,

“We expand it, we can bring more money into the game.”
