Changing Australia: There’ll be more couples WITHOUT children than WITH children soon

Ross and John were amazed by reports this morning there’ll be more Australian couples WITHOUT children than WITH children by 2029.

They got University of Melbourne demographer Peter McDonald on the line, who confirmed it’s true.

But it’s not quite what you think.

“We’re an aging society, and this includes empty-nesters,” he said.

Still, it’s a change. And all those big family homes with only two people inside is going to have a big impact on our country.
