Community disappointed as Wyangala dam project is dumped
The expansion of the Wyangala Dam near Cowra in the New South Wales Central West has been abandoned.
Community members are outraged at the Governments decision as it was designed to improve water security and flood management for the Lachlan Valley
The expansion was announced in 2019 by the former state and federal coalition and promised to put more than $600 million dollars towards it
Rural reporter Georgia Kondek caught up with the Farmers Taskforce Chairperson Richard Bootle who says as flooding is likely to become more frequent expansion was needed to help combat it.
