Dairy crisis: Fonterra cuts 98 jobs
Fonterra is closing a factory near Warrnambool in South West Victoria, that’ll see 98 people out of work.
Australia’s declining milk pool is being blamed for the decision to shut down the Dennington factory.
The New Zealand processor says the closure will be completed in November.
Fonterra declined an invitation for interview with Macquarie Media.
To find out what it means for the industry, rural reporter Eddie Summerfield spoke with United Dairy Farmers of Victoria President Paul Mumford.
