Drones help count Australian water birds

Drones are helping scientists more accurately count the number of water birds along the Murray River.

The camera footage is combined with coding software which analyses images of the 120 species.

Rural reporter Katie Fuller caught up with the Murray-Darling Basin Authority’s General Manager of Applied Science Doctor Matthew Coleman to find out how it works.
