Flooding rain washes through Gippsland

Rural News

Flooding rain is causing problems for dairy farmers in Victoria’s Gippsland.

Dozens of flood warnings are in place with more than 200 millimetres of rain falling in the past 24 hours.

Power has been cut to hundreds of thousands of properties across Victoria.

Dairy farmers are using generators to milk their cattle, while some key access roads have been flooded.

Rural editor Eddie Summerfield caught up with United Dairy Farmers of Victoria President Paul Mumford to find out more about the on-going situation.
