Frankston Council destroys bike track built by local kids

NEIL MITCHELL

A council has destroyed a bike track built and used by local kids.

Jamie Blake, 11, and his friends built the track in a park a couple of years ago, but now Frankston Council has bulldozed it.

“They’re not playing computer games, they’re not robbing supermarkets or painting their name on the side of trains.”

Jamie’s mum Kylie told Neil Mitchell that Jamie and his friends used to use the track every day.

“The resilience, the teamwork, everything they’re learning by putting this together has been lovely,” Kylie said.

“It’s not affecting anybody.”

Jamie told Neil he and his friends plan to rebuild the track.
