Full interview: Malcolm Turnbull defends NBN

Tom Elliott

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says he is “keenly aware” of the pain the NBN is causing the public, while also defending the rollout.

Thousands of customers have been complaining about poor speeds and installation of the service.

In his regular fortnightly interview with Neil Mitchell, Mr Turnbull argued the problems with the NBN are complex.

But he also insisted it’s working.

“(The NBN) is working. It is rolling out to 40,000 per week,” he said.

“The pace of the roll-out is very high. They are doing an extraordinary job.”
