Gay marriage debate: Tom Elliot and Amanda Gailiss

Marriage equality is the one of the most important issues for an entire generation, according to the former Youth Governor of Victoria.

Tom Elliot spoke with Amanda Gailiss about why the issue sparks fierce opinions on both sides of the debate.

Tom said he is not an opponent of marriage equality but questioned the way the debate has raged in Australia.

“I really don’t think a debate is necessary, I think we should just pass this legislation,” Amanda said.

“Debate is always necessary,” Tom replied.
