Hiding couple’s ‘terrifying’ phone call to their children

A Las Vegas concert-goer who shielded his wife as bullets flew around them has told Neil Mitchell of the hardest phone call he’s had to make.

Clay and Kelli Wilson feared for their life so much that they called their children while in hiding.

“We didn’t know if we were going to make it out,” Mr Wilson told 3AW.

“(We said) ‘We love you, we don’t know what’s going to happen here, but we want you to know that we love you’.

“When you have to deal with that, and you don’t know what the next move is, it’s pretty emotional.

“That was the most terrifying thing I’ve dealt with in my life, let me tell you.”
