Holes emerging in farming as migrants flee pandemic

Many thousand of visa workers stranded in Australia with invalid visas or forced to leave the country early, are leaving huge holes in the farming sector.

Supplies of fresh produce are particularly dependent on temporary workers.

A number of proposals are being drafted to convince the government to extend the visas of foreign workers so vegetable growers have the workforce they need to supply consumers

Rural Reporter Sophie Clarke caught up with Ausveg National Public Affairs Manager Tyson cattle to see where we’re at.
