Homeless set up camp on Elizabeth Street
Melbourne homelessness problem isn’t going away, with people still sleeping rough on the streets in the depths of winter.
In January police moved on groups of rough sleepers who had made themselves at home along Flinders Street.
The Herald Sun reports shop owners are struggling to deal with the abundance, with reports of people urinating in shops and abusing passersby.
3AW reporter Pat Mitchell paid a visit to Elizabeth Street where three new groups of homeless people have set up camp.
Pat spoke with Ross and John and said he can’t imagine anyone would want to sleep here by choice.
