Sly Of The Underworld has declared Melbourne’s “crime wave” over.

The leading crime writer told Ross and John he expected the latest evidence to show home invasions, assaults and carjackings had all dropped.

Sly said police had cracked the “bubble of about 100” young offenders who had inflicted most of the damage.

“Never in the field of juvenile justice has so much damage been done by so few on so many,” Sly said.
