Plenty of small businesses are encouraged to use them but when you crunch the numbers, it takes a long time and a lot of dollars spent before you accrue a meaningful points balance. Scott and John discuss whether these cards are worth the effort.

An adverse finding from the Australian Tax Office can cause a small business to suffer a great deal of distress, not to mention the high cost of seeing a tax lawyer. The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman have launched a new tax concierge service which allows small businesses to access expert tax advice and spend an hour with an experienced tax lawyer for $100. Ombudsman Kate Carnell explains how it works.

Friday is International Women’s Day and the small business sector benefits immensely from the contribution of women. Kym Clark was an accountant working for a mine in Central Queensland when she noticed there was no hi-vis clothing or safety wear available for pregnant women. Inspired, she founded She’s Empowered and now designs and manufacturers workwear and hi-vis gear for women.
