Major update to digital tree crop map

A digital resource mapping tree crops will be significantly expanded with a  $1.7 million funding boost.

The Australian tree crop map covers citrus, macadamia, mango, olives, avocado and truffle orchards, to one hectare.

The next phase will see a second dashboard with more detailed information for industry.

Rural reporter Ella Smith spoke to University of New England Senior Researcher Craig Shephard about how the improved map can be harnessed.
