Tom Elliott

Neil Mitchell is confused about wood heaters.

“One minute I’m being told it’s alright to burn them, it’s a renewable resource. Another time I’m being told its bad for your lungs, bad for the environment,” said Neil.

“I think everybody likes a wood fire. It’s gentle, reassuring, it’s warming, and it’s romantic,” said Neil.

Neil spoke to Dr Fay Johnston, Public Health Physician and the Head of Environmental Health Research team at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research.

“Burning efficiently is one of the most important skills that anyone with a wood heater should learn and understand.”
