New app to help reduce food waste

Australian researchers are developing a phone app it’s hoped will solve a trillion dollar food waste problem.

The Spotcheck App can assess how ripe, or spoiled, fruits and vegetables are with up to 99 percent accuracy.

Rural reporter Madelaine McNeill caught up with Go Micro founder and chief executive Sivam Krish to find out more about the program.
