Old-style grenade handed in as part of the firearms amnesty

The federal government’s firearm amnesty has brought in an unexpected item – a 1940s hand grenade.

The Shooting Zone in Mansfield was forced to shut down for the day after the bomb squad had to come and take care of the potentially unstable device.

Manager Mandy Kirley told Neil Mitchell she’d never come across one before.
