Pest monitors to be trialed in Australian orchards

A pest detection and forecasting service is being established, to help better protect crops.

FMC Corporation and RapidAIM are teaming up, to collect data from smart sensors in northern Victoria, which will be run through a farm intelligence platform to detect and predict insects.

Rural editor Sophie Clarke caught up with FMC Head of Marketing Chris van der Hoven who says the initiative will take the guesswork out of crop protection and allow farmers to focus their attention elsewhere.
