Prediction model keeping firefighters ahead of the fire front

An updated resource is expected to give firefighters the upper hand when battling eucalypt forest fires over summer.

CSIRO has teamed up with the New South Wales Rural Fire Service to update modelling which can predict the speed and behaviour of blazes.

Rural editor Sophie Clarke caught up with Bushfire behaviour researcher Doctor Andrew Sullivan to hear more about how the resource can help volunteers prepare.
