Promising milk prices for dairy farmers
Monday wasn’t only World Milk Day — it was the day our dairy farmers would learn the prices processors will be paying this season.
In the first year of the Mandatory Dairy Code being in place, processors are required announce prices on the first of June.
Of the major processors —
Saputo has announced a weighted average opening price of $6.40 per kilogram of milk solids.
It’s been matched by Bega for its southern Victorian producers, those in the north will receive $6.55.
Fonterra will open the price of $6.06 cents — with an estimated closing price of $6.30 to $6.70.
